The Piccadilly Circus label will release Paul McCartney Complete Liverpool Sound Concert.  This is a two disc set documenting his homecoming Liverpool Sound show at Anfield last Sunday.  Taped by the same one who captured the Led Zeppelin reunion show in December and released on Wendy, this is sure to be a phenomenal sounding recording.  The set list is unique too with the ultimate rarity “Hippy Hippy Shake” which The Beatles covered on the BBC, the live debut of “A Day In The Life” from Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, a new song called “In Liverpool,” and Dave Grohl as guest star on “Band On The Run,” “Back In The USSR,” and “I Saw Her Standing There.”

Piccadilly Circus has announced that this title, which was going to be a two disc set with the audience recording, will now be a massive four CD and one DVD set.  The four audio discs will have the audience and professional recording, and the DVD will have the television broadcast.

1) Complete Audience Recording 2CD
2) Complete Soundboard Recording 2CD
3) BBC2 Broadcasted pro-shoto 1DVD

total 5 discs set.

Nope same price as 2CD + DVD, unless you are being overcharged.

Unless the audience recording is a specially sweet sounding affair adding 2 CDs will only drive the price up.

Now it’s a 4 CD + 1DVD set . If they locate the sound check maybe we could have a 6 disc box set.

But realistically , if the soundboard recording is in Stereo and not the mono stream do we really need a double disc of audience material.

The artwork above is the fourth variation I have seen and with no DVD cat. No. I doubt it will be released in this form

This set has now been extended to include a DVD, probably the BBC 2 TV broadcast.

The complete radio show circulating appears to be Mono .

BBC Radio 2 has a highlight show this Saturday 19:00-20:00 BST NOT GMT.

the whole show was broadcast on BBC radio Merseyside and is also streaming online at the moment, so who wants, or needs, an audience recording!

I hate to say this… but… This was live on BBC TV in the UK, therefore I am sure that there must be a master recording of this floating around online already. And no doubt it will make it on to DVD and CD. I’m gonna wait for this recording to surface.
