I have the Clapton, Winwood MV release and I highly recomend it, if you can still find it. It’s an excellent audience recording, the set list is just about exactly the same for each show. Haven’t listened to it for a few months, but I do recall that one show in terms of recording quality stood above the others. The DVD set is o.k., it’s just a video of the video screens at the venue and there is a steady stream walking in front of it, but the sound quality is very good as well.

Maybe I’ve missed them (or it) but has there been any reviews posted of releases to do with the EC & Steve Winwood’s MSG concerts last year? In particular MV’s Blind Faith.

Having worked the show I can say that not having anything from Beck is a huge disappointment. For what it’s worth, Derek Trucks did most of Clapton’s solos, he’s good but a little too technical in playing. And why on earth would Clapton play Cocaine when the whole benefit gig is for his substance abuse center, am I the only one that sees the irony.

Excellent release. WDLGTBSS sounds almost melancholic in a way I’ve never heard it played before.
