Usually I think Godfather EQ’s the recordings way too heavy. But since I didn’t have this show in my collection allready – I bought it. I find the recording (or EQmix) to be too bass-heavy – somewhat disturbing. BUT; it’s a great listen ANYWAY, because of Eric Clapton’s explendid performance, and because of the great capture by the taper (whether it was this bass-heavy to begin with…I don’t know).
As the reviewer wrote; Layla is a highlight. I also find “Wonderful Tonight” to be a real gem….much better than the versions he gave of that one in 1978 and 1979…..even though it was real good back then, as well. The artwork/info from Godfather is quite nice, as always.
