I have had this CD for several months, it was identified by my usually knowlegable European connection as having 'a lot of unreleased tracks" so I jumped on it, but when I mentioned it, it was panned by the members of "Hey Joe" community that could be bothered to read the track list and reply about it as "pretty standard" and "nothing much new here."

I'll admit that a number of the "Mannish Boy" outtakes have been in circulation, and I believe that one take of these and the "Blue Suede Shoes" portion of the track first appeared 30 years ago on "Loose Ends" where the full jam was on the LP "Sky High"? The edit of Captain Coconut / New Rising Sun / Cherokee Mist was done posthumously, if I recall correctly, and the complete tapes for all of these session takes have floating around for decades. Cherokee Mist was in the Box Set Lifelines, the Official Box Set, and in the CD that came with the "Voodoo Child" graphic biography some 15 years ago. It *is* interesting hearing how John Jansen mixed or remixed these tracks.

A lot of the material on the 2nd CD was on "Burning Desire," as you noted-- I seem to recall some of it was on the LP "Gypsy On Cloud Nine" released... what... 20+ years ago?.

Nice to see someone who knows what they are talking about review this, and confirm the unreleased portions of this CD. I'll feel much better about treeing it on Demonoid...
