Great review Cliff!

The sound on this new Godfather release is perhaps a slight improvement over older Shout To The Top & TMOQ (Tarantura) releases. Highly recommended!

I think it's logical to heed argentum's comment regarding cuts and completeness regarding this title through the years. The only time I heard the album version was that one time and though it didn't sound spliced I can't be positive, it was many years ago and the only thing I remember about the label was that it was an old one. I guess the question would be do you need this new title if you already have a version. Having seen them, I highly recommend both Berkeley shows for the artwork alone. GF is on top at the moment, some of us still care about packaging and the mastering on their titles is for the most part superb.

This is the first time I hear there's no cut at the end of Dazed. I've listened to at least hundreds of titles for this particular date and all but all have the same content. If there's no cut in Dazed it means it was sourced from an old vinyl, which - what was very often practice in those early days - was edited to make feeling the song is complete but in fact, almost always bootleggers incorporated a different part of recording to fill the gap and it always sounded crappy and such amateur (to mention many versions of famous BBC 1969-71 for example).

From what I understand the no label version omits all of the bow solo and is the only version doing so. I have not had time to compare Godfather to other versions for each minor cut that this recording always had, but if anyone has it would be interesting to know if this has the same content as say Shout To The Top and TMQ/Tarantura.

This GF version still has the cut at the end of dazed like my no label red and white slick insert version bought from japan in the 90's. A friend has a vinyl version of this show that isn't cut at the end of dazed. Listened to and didn't buy since I couldn't discern any real upgrade over the version I already own. The artwork is what makes this desirable, hard not to buy the 13th and 14th when they're sitting next to each other in full stout imagery, maybe next convention.

I got this to replace my Pro-CDR Going To California on Cobra. Godfather is clearer sounding with a brighter high end and a superb upgrade when compared. Cobra actually runs a tad too slow and sounds like it was copied from a clean, however slightly warped vinyl. Great job on the review.

It is such a wonderful show that you wish that a complete tape might surface.
The stories of tape disposal may be correct because the recording used for another Rubber Dubber/TMOQ release- Hendrix LA Forum 1970- is also only available from a vinyl source.
Perhaps Pagey has a soundboard recording in his tape vault; I wonder, if he reads this, whether he might be able to confirm/deny
