I know. Beelzebub was the first to release the tapes on a bootleg, which was the first time that the masses got to hear the source (albeit all over-processed). After that, everyone let go of their lowgen copies. Same thing that happened with LA Forum Source 5 and Pittsburgh 73 Source 3.

The first were low gen tapes dear astroidbelt. Some time before as anyone could heard Beelzebub some of us had a chance to listen this tape in its raw and pure form.

Actually, the new Long Beach tape was found and first released by Beelzebub. Not TCOLZ. The Beelzebub release, as terrible as it was, was the first to come out. I believe he was also the first to the gate with the LA Forum 5th Source, and the Pittsburgh 73 3rd Source.

A shame that he has no idea what he’s doing when it comes to remastering the stuff he puts out. A total waste.

Hidden Grok’s claim was true, but refered to the new audience tape of the March 12th show that was found and released by The Chronicles Of Led Zeppelin on Dedicated To Anyone Who Got A Divorce Today, not about the March 11th soundboard being released by Empress Valley.

It appears that Hidden Grok’s claim about “a new Long Beach tape soon to surface of far superior quality” is true. Empress Valley are to release a soundboard tape of the first night.

Did anyone notice how Beelzebub ripped off again collectors? Their so called raw version of March 12th 1975 has high frequencies cut so can it be still named untouched? Beware of this guy unless you want spend your bank to trash!

This release was made from copies of the Winston Remasters versions of these shows. The 3/11/75 version apparently isn’t even complete.

Another rip-off production from Tarantura 2000. Hooray!

Regarding Eric99′s comment, my recommendation is to never, unless you are very wealthy, jump on a big ticket item untill you learn something about it. It’s better to miss out on something really good than spend tons of money on something that isn’t.

I listened through these discs on Bootleg License and if there were any problems, you know me well enough to know that I don’t hold back my opinions and would have gladly blasted this out of the water. But the fact is this is a flawless release. Besides the obvious limitation of the tape sources, this is a commendable job and worth the effort.

Thank you for the thorough review. I look forward to my copy of this release arriving next week. As for GROK, I too received this “warning” from him. As you correctly point out, several aspects of his argument are logically flawed. And, in the absence of logic, he must have an axe to grind with Tarantura or some other hidden agenda. Seems pretty simple to me.. Grok tries to prevent people from buying Tarantura by claiming there will be a new version of one (or both) sources of Long Beach. The note you included above strongly indicates the new source will be from Beelzebub. Beelzebub and/or Grok thinks Tarantura will copy this source to sell a box again.

Well, I received the same above mentioned email from Hidden Grok and gaffed off buying this because of it. A lesson for me.
I didn’t realize this was from a Millard tape, which i knew was good quality. I can’t seem to spam Grok anyway. But lets also be real here, it does seem to me that there have been some somewhat “hyped” releases that have turned out to be big disappointments, like the Badge Holders set, it seems to me. Though I have t admit, I don’t have it. Hmmm, turmoil in the bootleg world!

A new tape source for the second Long Beach show would be an amazing and much welcomed release. I don’t see the connection between that hyothetical tape and this release on the Tarantura label and to fill my email box with hostile emails from Tuco isn’t the way to make friends.

I personally doubt there’s any error, GS, particularly when there is promise of a huge upgrade in quality by the only shop trying to distribute the inferior CD-R product from Beelzebub Records. Your thorough review was, for me, excellent and credible from start to finish. Thanks for the exciting preview.

It seems he has taken exception to my analysis of the paragraph by Hidden Grok. If I am in error in my analysis, please correct me.
