N’est Aucun Imbecile (Black Dog Records BDR-003) L’Olympia, Paris, France – October 10th, 1969 Introduction, Good Times Bad Times, Communication Breakdown, I Can’t Quit You, Heartbreaker, Dazed & Confused, White Summer / Black Mountain Side, You Shook Me, How Many More Times N’est Aucun Imbecileisn’t simply the second edition of Tarantura’s Ain’t No Fool, their edition of Led Zeppelin’s Paris 1969 radio broadcast. It is a new version of the tape this time with the French DJ’s comments left in. The levels are still pushed very high and the higher frequencies are very grating on the ears. The packaging is a single cardboard sleeve that is quite thin, and the title is in limited edition. Godfather’s L’Olympia has been receiving rave reviews for its expert handling of this tape, and it remains the definitive version of this essential show. If you liked this review, buy me a cup of joe.
