A bit more on this wonderful title by the premier Zeppelin label, Tarantura, which continues to produce excellent quality releases that have meaning and relevance. Track 1's "introduction" is one of the better opening tracks I've heard in a while, before the music begins. When the track starts, Robert Plant's whipping the crowd into a frenzy with four separate exclamations by him of "hey", each in a succeedingly higher octave. An audience member laughs excitedly after the second "hey", then there's some initial tuning, Plant asks if everyone "feels alright" shortly before the opening signatures for "Good Times Bad Times" that segue into a frenetic "Communication Breakdown". The show gets better, and better, and the recording quality is excellent considering this is a 1969 audience recording. Plant's voice is particularly outrageous, as is his ad-lib during "I Can't Quit You" to the knucklehead who threw the glass. Reminiscent of his impromptu lyrics in the evening show from September 19, 1970 during "Dazed and Confused" for audience members to sit down so others could see the show. Hats off to Tarantura for producing this title, and releasing this important, and obscure, recording to the collecting world.
