I think the best compliment this set could ever get is that my wife and young son both love it. It isn’t often I can inspire a lot of enthusiasm from my wife when it comes to bootlegs – not that she is un-interested, but still remotly impressed. In this case however, she jumped and started singing along with Freddie throughout some of the shows.
Still I would considered this period as somewhat “lighter” in search for a better word compared to the earlier 70′s material. With this tour Queen entered into a “pop” era – in many ways consistent with Freddie’s search for new ways of expressing himself musically.
Despite this, these shows are very enjoyable and you’ll never be ashamed of having this kind of box in your bookshelf …
