Now I feel lucky to have just found a copy of this show. I wouldn't be surprised if the audience recorded parts are actually taken from someone with a camcorder in about the second row. I just watched a lot of great footage from this show including the smoking version of Bad Luck w/ Mike Ness (a living legend in some circles, y'know!).

Thanks once again, mats22, for the kind word. I cannot compare the rehearsal show reviewed (Working On A Show) with the other rehearsal as I have not heard it. I entirely agree that the difference in the quality of performance between the rehearsal and this show is marked. However, I still find the rehearsal show an enjoyable listen. I concluded in my review that the rehearsal show was "highly recommended" and of course by that I meant in the context of an obviously imperfect rehearsal. (I quoted Godfather's statement that "it is a work in progress rather than a full dress rehearsal show.") One reason for this was because it was the first chance to hear material from the new album. Nonetheless, it obviously quickly fell down the pecking order and I revisited my review, amending the closing comment to, "highly recommended to collectors wising to experience the Working On A Dream Tour in its nascent state," which I think makes my stance clearer. In one sense, however, the rehearsal release has perhaps become more desirable, as it contains seven songs from the new album, including three which were played rarely. Surprise, Surprise was only played seven times and Good Eye and This Life (which I particularly like) three times each. Therefore this represents a chance to pick up some rare performances.

This gig deserves such a detailed review as the one above. Thanks Cliff once again! This is my favourite boot of 2009! Here, really everything is perfect! I first bought in 2009 the "Working on a show" (GR 370/71) album which I found and still find quite disappointing. This one was next and what a difference in sound quality and performance! Okay, the other one is only a rehearsal show, so we can't expect the same as from a normal gig. (And the second rehearsal show not covered by Godfather was much better, as even Bruce was saying in an interview) Three weeks later, Bruce and the band were on fire as this excellent realease is proving it. Impressive!

This one was a quick sell out for Godfather and after tracking down a copy I can see why. The sound quality is a perfect balance and the performance is one I wish I could have seen live. I recommend this to both casual and hardcore fans. This one has been in my CD player for several days now and has distracted me from the recently released Beatles remasters.
