Chambau, you've brought something out that I'd not caught before, although I'm not sure which of the 2 great recordings of this show released by Tarantura runs at the correct speed. To my ears, the Peach recording reveals a quicker tempo, but is that because the Aquarius tape runs a little slow? Regardless, they both totally rock, and you can't miss by obtaining Peach's gem. Glad to see you're enjoying them so much!

Hey HAGER, I've got a question for you: I was listening a MP3 sample of A LIGHT IN THE BLACK (Mr. Peach's version) and I found it running a bit too fast. Am I correct? I would appreciate if you could make comments about that as I'm about to order it. Thanks in advance for your support.

Hey Hager, thanks a lot for the feedback. I already own Foojin', which is great in my opinion, and it looks like I have to manage to order Mr. Peach's version as well. ;)

Chambau, I've had a good opportunity to do a side-by-side comparison of the 2 recordings Tarantura has released from this show, and my conclusions are surely not surprising. Personally, I believe Mr. Peach's sources outshine other recordings of the same show. For example, the soundboard of Rainbow's December 9th Osaka show - as found on the Soundboard Archives title - falls short of the consuming atmosphere of Peach's recording of that same show. With that said, and as it relates to the two December 16th afternoon recordings, the perspective captured in Aquarius's tapes on Foojin' offers a listener something quite different than Peach's tapes of the show. Rainbow collectors may find these differences illuminating and valuable. Of further value is Tarantura's superior packaging for Foojin' - which may no longer be available. Given the imminent commercial release of an expanded edition of Rising, and the recent expanded release of Down to Earch, times are flush for us fellow Rainbow fans. No doubt that Tarantura has been at the heart of this surge that has benefitted us all.
