Danny Federici, the longtime keyboard player for Bruce Springsteen whose stylish work helped define the E Street Band’s sound on hits from “Hungry Heart” through “The Rising,” died Thursday. He was 58.

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street band take their bows in Boston on Monday November 19th 2007, with special tribute to original E Street band member Phanthom Dan,Danny Federici. This was his last show before he took a leave of absence to battle cancer.

He appeared once more with the band, on March 20,2008 in Indianapolis:
