February 25th, 2008 news and new release information

Soundboard recordings are featured on all four new releases announced this morning.  Virtuoso will release Brian Ferry Bottom Line 1977 (Virtuoso 015/016).  This contains soundboard recordings of both the early and late show on June 23rd, 1977 at the Bottom Line in New York City.

Black Sabbath Children Of The Black (no label) is a soundboard recording from the August 10th, 1980 show at the Civic Center in Hartford, Connecticut.  This tape was released last year on Hartford Evil (BON-349/350), but this promises to be an upgrade.

The Doors August 30, 1970 The Isle Of Wight is going to be released on the Satellite 6 label.  This is a multi-track recording promising to feature the complete show.

Genesis January 28, 1975 is a soundboard recording from the Civic Plaza Assembly Hall in Phoenix, Arizona.  This is one of the few soundboards to surface from Genesis’ The Lamb tour and should be an exciting listen.

  1. I purchased Black Sabbath “Children Of The Black” because it was alleged to be an upgrade when compared to “Hartford Evil”
Bondage Music Bon-349/350. When comparing the 2 titles and in my opinion, “Hartford” is superior in sound quality and you also get 8 bonus tracks on disc #2 from 11/18/80 Tokyo, Japan. I can’t prove it but “Children Of The Black sounds thin to my ears and possibly MP3 sourced. I also noticed that this show is now available on “Wolfgangs Vault” and it’s very possible the recent release is from this source.
