New KISS on Godfather for January! Thunderbolts & Lightning (2CD) live Unmasked 1980 tour. Auckland 3 December 1980 + Sydney ‘Inner Sanctum’ FM broadcast. Wohoo!
I second that emotion re the Dylan fall gigs! Those Roma setlists really surprised me, but then he still has a few tricks left in his magical bag, like the few one-offs he performed this summer. I was lucky enough to get Richard Thompson’s ” 1952 Vincent Black Lightning ” in Detroit. ( see http://www.boblinks.com 7/14/13 for a recap of a great summer day ).I bet Godfather will make it happen! Till then we’ll have to savor the new Crystal Cat.
I hope that Godfather will release in January a 3 disc set with the 2 Dylan gigs from Rome with the special setlist. And maybe another double disc set with the standard setlist from Milano or with a great sounding tape of another show from this autumn.
that Floyd show in Cincinnati, which nobody ever seems to spell right, so kudos to wgpsec for getting it correct (the second N is doubled rather than the T that most people seem to think it is), in 1972 was released as one of those so-called “free gift” items at Litehouse as a 2-pro-CD-R by an unidentified label (i suspect that it’s actually Sigma…can anybody confirm or refute?) not more than several weeks ago. the sound was quite decent, a pretty good audience recording, but hopefully the Godfather’s version will be a slight upgrade. if not, then it still shouldn’t be bad, and at least this time it’ll be on silver
LOU Lou lou… it’s the beginning of a Great Adventure! I expected The Don would weigh in on Lou Reed’s passing, but to issue a cool VU show, AND one that I don’t have…..! A solo Lou title would be nice, as well, something in support of NEW YORK c.1990 would be equally tasty.
Plus more ” new ” Floyd, and a Bowie session I’m not familiar with…. Godfather, I Can’t Stand It!!
Dylan Sydney ’66 was a big deal when first uncovered in the nineties… will be interesting to see how much more complete GR 951/52 is. Christmas Time Is Here Again, Podgy and Jasper!
