  1. ‘Wish You Were Here/Animals: Unissued Alternate Studio Recordings 1975 – 1976’ (Sigma 146), which I got just this week, having finally tracked one down, seems brighter on the ‘Animals’ tracks (vocals, cymbals), which I have put down to it being lower gen than ‘Animals Outtakes’ (Sigma 107). The ‘WYWH’ tracks are a little longer than on Sigma 106, but are the same takes – they just include several more seconds of ‘warming up’ at the start.

106 has the Stephane Grappelli take of ‘WYWH’, presumably lifted from the official Experience edition.
107 also has ‘Pigs On The Wing’, but that is simply the seamless-meld of the 2 album tracks.

  3. Weren’t those early Sigma titles taken from needle drops of the vinyl pressing too? I didn’t think it would take them so long to catch up with the pressed ‘Extractions’ CD. If you have that, I would doubt that you need this release unless your preference is for jewel cases.

    • If you’re lookin’ for an cleaned up and great sounding version of WYWH outtakes, grab Eat A Peach “All Roads Lead To Knebworth” 3cd release. It’s not only offering a stunning and much upgraded Knebworth 75 show in really good quality but also contains superb quality WYWH outtakes sourced from original analog tape, not from vinyl nor EQ digital copies.

  4. Re Wish You Were Here/Animals: Unissued Alternate Studio Recordings 1975 – 1976 (Sigma 146): another ‘definitive’ from Sigma, of material released by them not so long ago?
