Surely I’m not the only Floyd fan who has been waiting for that new “Montreal 1977”. I’ll bet even Jimmy Hoffa will be getting one. I’m somewhat surprised it’s taken Sigma this long to finally release their supposedly definitive version of that famous show.
And hopefully Sigma did something about that horribly garbled brief part of “Roar Ends” that seemed rather unprofessional & downright ugly for a commercially available recording, even for a bootleg, even for a bootlegger such as Sirene.
Maybe even Stuart, Relayer67, WGPSPEC, or Jimmy Hoffa would agree!
I heard Jimmy Hoffa was seen briefly appearing in public to grab one before evading being spotted again for alleged misdemeanours. He liked it.
LOL.
I can’t even remember where the brief garbled part is, but I seem to remember it as being between songs and thus not actually affecting any music. Anyone remember what I’m referring to and remember at what particular point in the show it occurs?
I still can’t remember where the junky part of “Roar Ends” is (nobody else remembers either?), but the new Sigma 315 version of the same show, as well as Sigma 314 (“Wembley 1974 2nd Night Master Tapes”), are both excellent, recommended additions to my Pink Floyd boot CD collection…very much so…..
Just out of curiosity, I listened to “Roar Ends” for the first time in quite a while just to find out where the brief garbled junky part is, where the recording seems to go unstably berserk for several seconds or so, and couldn’t find it at all! So, although I would have sworn that I thought it was on “Roar Ends”, I now take it that I must have mistaken it for being on “Roar Ends” instead of another Pink Floyd boot CD release where it actually exists…maybe another 1977 show…I can’t help but wonder which one it could be.
