news and new releases

There are several interesting new releases and reissues coming out next week.  Black Sabbath Scary Docks (Shades 290) documents a show from Toronto in July, 2001.

Rainbow Rainbow 1977 (Rising Arrow-020) is a 2CD from the Rainbow Theatre in London on November 14th, 1977

Darker Than Blue is reissuing one of their best releases.  Live In Japan Complete (Darker Than Blue 044/045/046/047/048/049) is a six disc title with three complete concerts from their tour of Japan in 1972.

The no label Rolling Stones label (perhaps the best Stones label in production today) are coming out with two interesting new titles.  Return To Liver documents the July 24th, 1978 show in Anaheim.

Make The World Go ‘Round contains the June 25th, 1982 show in Wembley Stadium.

  1. DOG n CAT label just announced a new release – a 4CD with OBI strip ‘liver than you’ll ever be’ and disc 2 is the alternate tape source.

  2. I’m not speaking for them, but these two shows are relatively scarce.

And I can say that a silver pressed version of the alternate Nov. 9th, 1969 2nd show will be released next month.

  3. The No Label is pulling a true Dog N’ Cat move here reissuing two vinyl titles on CD. I have both the vinyl boots here and neither one is uh, something Stones collectors would likely be waiting to hear.
There’s a rather very good alternate Nov. 9 1969 2nd show tape first torrented last June. Very listenable and something most Stones collectors would welcome a pressed CD of.
Instead we have two pretty average shows both of which have been released before.
Love to hear from someone representing the No Label label as to why they bothered…seriously!
