“The Beatles at Abbey Road 1983” contains the much lauded ‘Abbey Road video show’ from the studio’s open day season that year where fan’s were invited in to the hallowed studios and revel in a multi media spectacle that the other of us would have to wait until the Anthology release to witness (Unless you were quick with purchasing the vinyl bootlegs that flooded the market soon after)

The DVD featured here is the complete visual content from the show but it has been spliced with alternate and upgraded pictures and audio to upgrade the experience where possible. Bonus tracks are alternate versions from the video shoots for the promos of “Paperback Writer” and “Rain” from 1966. These scenes have been shared on the internet recently but will not feature the water marks on this DVD.

Press from the label reads; “The famous Abbey Road video show from 1983 in stereo! With new film footage from ‘Hey Jude’, ‘A Day In The Life’, ‘Rain’ and ‘Strawberry Fields Forever’ as well as the 1965 Ed Sullivan show with ‘Rain’ and ‘Paperback Writer’ in full colour and in stunning quality.

As a bonus, you’ll also find some black and white footage from the ‘And I Love Her’ sessions from Studio 2 at Abbey road, previously shown on SAT3 German television.

Where possible, upgraded video clips were inserted.

The audio CD contains complete takes of all the songs from the video – We did not use John’s “#9 Dream”. Extra are the ‘Thank Your Lucky Stars’ sketches 1 & 2 from the 14th November, 1964 show.

Also a rare mix of ‘Good Morning, Good Morning with German words at the end of the song and from the John Barrett tapes, a version of ‘Octopus’ Garden'”
