Capitol released the soundtrack to Help!on August 6th, 1965.  Silver Apple pressed on silver disc the release by Millennium Remasters from several years ago and includes both the stereo and mono mixes of the album.  Capitol themselves selected the seven Beatle tunes from the UK version of the album.  They also used several instrumentals written by Ken Thorne.  It is strange that George Martin wasn’t asked and by all accounts he expected to, but the studio wanted to use their guy for the job.  Throne did utilize the George Martin Orchestra for the job.

Martin would later release his own instrumental Help! album.  The first half is in true stereo except for “Ticket To Ride,” which is in rechanneled stereo.   The initial song begins with a bit of the “James Bond Theme” and became a popular introduction to the song, appearing also on 1962-1966.  This album is notable for being the first appearance of the sitar, an instrument that would be used more in later work.
