Rubber Soul was released in the US on December 6th, 1965 just three days after its release in the UK. Silver Apple present the MR release on silver pressed discs in excellent sound quality. And like the other issues in this series the disc has both stereo and mono mixes of the LP present. The mastering job is also impressive on this as well with no errors. Even though by this time the US and UK pressings were beginning to resemble one another more by this time, there are still some differences.
Two of the four songs left over from Help!, “I’ve Just Seen a Face” and “It’s Only Love,” were used. And two songs from the UK pressing, “Nowhere Man” and “What Goes On,” were omitted from the US LP and were released later as a single. The US stereo also has slightly different mixes for “The Word” and “I’m Looking Through You.” It is notable since by this time the band were using four track to record the stereo. Mono was the preferred format, but the stereo sounds much better on Rubber Soul that it does on the previous albums.
