The HMC label have announced their first release of 2015!
It’s a 2 DVD set of the Beatles appearances on the Ed Sullivan Show between 1964 – ’67.
The DVDs features brand new and unbooted rehearsal footage from 1965 and the 16th February, 1964 show – complete and uncut – presumably from the station’s master.
According to a source, “the video is the same quality as the official release which is taken right from the Sullivan 2″ master tapes except for the first Feb. 9 appearance as Sullivan’s master of that was a first generation copy made in the 70’s. The master must have been damaged back then, the audio here is sourced from Umatic 3/4″ videos and is much sharper than the official release because they muffled the audio with no noise.”
Happy New Year, HMC!If you liked this review, buy me a cup of joe. (Suggested: $3 a shot or $7.5 for a double)
