Just got the copy. Excellent sound, much better than I expected. Even Gonzaga sounds more natural and for the first time it’s not tweaked to death, I’d say it’s just as it is on original analog tape.
They’ve applied a heavy EQ that destroyed the original sound. It’s so distorted that I just cannot listen to that. Same with Scorpio’s Oakland 77 shows. Heavy tweaked and brickwalled.
Got it, thanks. Will have to give it another listen, it’s been a few years.
This is an exciting news! If these shows are upgrades to the versions available (especially the Spokane 1968 which is literally f****d up on the Empress Valley’s Lifetime Guaranteed set), I’d call this as a release of the year! Not only because I have a personal taste and memories on the old vinyl set whom title is used on this new effort but also because it’s documenting group’s two most important moments in their whole career: the very first known to exist recording and the very last two US shows performed just few days before a tragic pass of Mr Plant’s son [ RIP Karac ].
Zepster, I have the EV Lifetime Guaranteed title. What did they mess upon the release? I haven’t listened to it recently.
