Swiss Made (The Swingin’ Pig Records TSP-CD 2218/19)

Eulachhalle, Winterhur, Switzerland – February 10, 1980

Disc 1:  Over The Rainbow, Eyes Of The World, Love’s No Friend, Brandenburg Concert #3 / Greensleeves, Since You Been Gone, All Night Long, Catch The Rainbow, keyboard solo, Lost In Hollywood

Disc 2:  guitar solo, Man On The Silver Mountain, blues, Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow, Long Live Rock N Roll, Kill The King / Lone Live Rock N Roll, Over The Rainbow.  Bonus tracks:  One More With Feeling (All Night Long), Mars (Eyes Of The World), Sparks Don’t Mean A Fire (No Time To Lose), The Plod (Making Love), Stone (Bad Girl), Bluesing (Love’s No Friend), New York (Danger Zone), The Steamer (Lost In Hollywood)

A CDR with the same title and show was released on the Japanese Lost & Found label a couple of years ago, but this is a silver factory pressed CD with the addition of the “Down To Earth” rough mixes.  Except for some sound problems during the first two minutes of “Eyes Of The World” the quality is reasonable good with Ritchie Blackmore in fine form. One of the highlights again is the 26 minutes epic “Lost In Hollywood” with a lot of soling by Ritchie Blackmore, Don Airey & Cozy Powell.  The “Down To Earth” rough mixes appear in the same running order like the songs on the finish product (Replacing “STONE” (a.k.a. Bad Girl) for “Since You Been Gone”), all these songs are of excellent quality.  As a hidden bonus track you hear “Set Me Free” a demo version from Graham Bonnett’s solo album (track 16).  (Truppi)
