April 21st, 2008 News and new releases

There are many new releases to talk about this morning.  Thinman released Bob Dylan Think I’ll Call It A Man (Thinman-058/59), a two disc set of the June 27th, 1981 Earl’s Court show.  Thinman have steadily been releasing the great tapes from Dylan’s gospel tour of Europe that summer.

Spirits Of The Ryman (TMR 136/137) is a two disc set on Tambourine Man Records with Dylan’s September 17th, 2007 show in Nashville.  This is notable for Jack White joining Dylan on stage and giving the first ever live rendition of “Meet Me In The Morning.”  A fair to good audience recording circulated soon afterwards.  Hopefully TMR were able to find a better source for this historic show.

Misterclaudel will release the DVD called Wings Over The World.  This is the tour documentary of the world tour in 1976 and was released in 1979.

Also coming out is Pink Floyd Raving Maniacs (Sigma 12).  This is a three disc set of the June 15th, 1975 show at Roosevelt Stadium in Jersey City, New Jersey.

Neil Young Deep Chrome (no label) is a two disc set of Neil Young’s March 9th, 2008 show at the Hammersmith Apollo in London, England.
