June 2nd, 2008 news and new releases

Among the new releases this will is Mick Taylor & Friends Blues Summit.  This is a two disc no label release of an audience recording from the Queen Elizabeth Hall, London, on May 5th, 2008.

Yes Living God (Virtuoso 026/027) is a two disc set with the December 10th, 1974 show at the Veterans Memorial Coliseum, New Haven, Connecticut.  This tape surfaced recently on Wolfgang’s Vault and is remarkable for its sound quality and the gigantic cut in “To Be Over.”

Two new DVD are now available on the Archive Master Series.  The Who Mission Valley Rock captures the October 26th, 1982 show in San Diego, California and The Firm Joining Forces has the December 9th, 1984 London show plus bonus material.

Finally, Tarantura released Eric Clapton & Band Tour 75, a limited edition five disc box set with the December 1st and December 2nd, 1975 Tokyo shows.

If you liked this review, buy me a cup of joe. (Suggested: $3 a shot or $7.5 for a double)

  1. I read a few reviews of the Mick Taylor 5-5-08 Blues Summit show. The majority of them are not very flattering. Too bad , I was looking forward to picking up this show. You can check them out on the IORR website – thanks.
