new Led Zeppelin and Elton John on the way!!

The Chronicles Of Led Zeppelin label returns to form with two fascinating and very important releases for the Zeppelin collector.  Final Night At The Garden (TCOLZ 057/058) contains the first two thirds of the June 14th, 1977 Madison Square Garden show.  This is all that circulates and has only been available on pressed CD in several very rare and expensive boxsets.

Slowing Down In Buffalo (TCOLZ 059/060/061/062/063) is a five disc set documenting Zeppelin’s July 15th, 1973 show in Buffalo, New York.  This has the common soundboard fragment but makes the debut of the complete audience source.

Elton John Madman Across The Ocean (Wardour-075) contains a soundboard recording of the October 11th, 1971 Tokyo show making its silver pressed debut.

  1. The New York tape is an audience recording. It is the same one that appears in the Strange Tales From The Road boxset. But this is more complete and should run at the correct speed.

  2. Is that “Final Night At The Garden” release a Soundboard or an Audience tape?

  3. Hasn’t that Elton John set been released as both First Visit (Midnight Beat, I believe) and Madman Shakes Tokyo (don’t recall the label) ? I don’t think it’s making it’s silver -pressed debut but it is a great show.
