New Pink Floyd and Rainbow

Pink Floyd Signs Of Lives (Sigma 54) is a six disc set with the two Yoyogi Olympic Pool, Tokyo, Japan shows on March 4th & 5th.  These tapes are described as having “perfect sound” and are very rare post-Waters Pink Floyd silvers.

Rainbow The 4th Gig (Rising Arrow-036) contains Rainbow’s fourth ever gig (hence the title) in Hempstead Calderone Concert Hall, Long Island, New York, on November 14th 1975.

  2. Although I don’t collect the Gilmour-led era of Floyd, they didn’t play “Echoes”, once known as “Looking Through the Knotholes in Granny’s Wooden Leg”, as many already know, on either of those dates, according to the site of the late Wotjek, which fortunately is still online, although I’m not sure if either of the shows, esp. the March 4th, could be fit onto just 2 discs instead of 3.

Personally, I can’t help but wonder if any boot label is ever going to release any more deliciously tasty & scrumptious Cream factory-pressed original silvers (or golds) again these days, as I would certainly love to see fresh new CD releases of Clapton-bands – esp. Cream.

  3. I wonder how Sigma 54 compares with the Melbourne 1988 pre-FM source, as used on Sirene’s “Lapse Of Memory” (which is indeed perfect)…? And why spread over 6 discs, did they perform “Echoes” on those dates…?
