Around the time Peter Gabriel finally released Up, after working on the album for eight years, he played several nights around Europe including Munich and Arzachena, Italy.  Three concerts were held at the Alcatraz Club in Milan, Italy (the third and final gig on September 18th can be found on The Moon And The Water (Pablo Records P.rec 26/27)), and the following gig was on September 21st in Théâtre de la Mutualité in Paris.

Warming Up contains a very good to borderline excellent audience tape of the Paris show.  The audience are very enthusiastic and the tape becomes a bit distorted when they clap along, but the small venue ensures a very intimate atmosphere.

The Paris setlist is very similar to the final night in Milan except that “Digging In The Dirt” is moved to later in the show, “I Grieve” is replaced by “My Head Sounds Like That” and “The Tower That Ate People” and “Solsbury Hill” are dropped and replaced by “Animal Nation” and “Father Son.”

The bonus tracks include songs from the late nineties and from the WOMAD show in Washington State.  This is packaged in a digipack with artwork inspired by Up.
