Black Sabbath – Böblingen & Born Again Demos (The Swingin’ Pig Records TSP-CD 2214/15)

Böblingen & Born Again Demos (The Swingin’ Pig Records TSP-CD 2214/15)

Sporthalle, Böblingen, Germany – September 28, 1983

Disc 1:  Intro., Children Of The Grave, Hot Line, War Pigs, Born Again, Supernaut, drum solo, Rock N Roll Doctor, Disturbing Priest, Iron Man, The Dark / Zero The Hero, Heaven And Hell

Disc 2: guitar solo, Digital Bitch, Black Sabbath, Smoke On The Water, Paranoid.  Bonus tracks, Born Again demos, Manor studio, Shipton On Cherwell, Oxfordshire, UK – June 26, 1983:  Hot Line, Keep It Warm, The Fallen, Digital Bitch, Stonehenge, Trashed, Zero The Hero, Disturbing The Priest

The source of the Böblingen show is an audience tape of good (+) quality with the typical setlist of that time.  The band is fine form and plays a very good show.  The Bonus tracks are of very good to excellent quality and include the unreleased track “The Fallen”. Why in Christ’s name is that track not released on any of the Black Sabbath Born Again re-issues in the past? (Maybe to keep bootlegs interesting!!)  The soli and vocals are different from time to time, so this makes the 2CD an interesting item for each Black Sabbath collection.  The listing of “Born again” is missing on the back sleeve (Track 13), but it is listed in booklet, so the correct running order at the end of disc 2 is 13) Born Again, 14) Disturbing The Priest.  The pictures of the sleeve (front / back/ inner) are most of the times taken from the Born Again tour book.  (Truppi)

  1. European silver set that seems a straight copy of the Japanese 2CDR set ‘Disturbing The Digital Bitch’ (Lost and Found) coupled with the CD ‘Born Again Unmixed Demos and “The Fallen”‘ (no label but looks like the Power Gate people). The Born Again tracks run a little fast and have not been speed-corrected for this particular European release. A nice item.
