new releases

The Mid Valley Sampler label has three new titles now available.  Bob Dylan and The Band New York & Oakland 1974 is a 4CD set with soundboard recordings from the January 31st late show in Madison Square Garden and the February 11th Oakland Coliseum show.

Stevie Wonder Winterland & Berkeley 1973 is a 3CD set with soundboards from March 3rd in San Francisco and March 4th in Berkeley.

The Allman Brothers Band The Gatlinburg Tapes.  This is a 2CD set containing a home jam recorded at Duane’s home in April 1971; studio sessions recorded at Gatlinburg Studios, TN, April 1, 1971. (Some state this as early 1971 rehearsals.) Very good audio.

Wings Venus And Mars Sessions (Yellow Cat/YC-070) contains the Trevor Jones material from these sessions.

  1. The Allman release should be terrific. I love nearly everything that I’ve heard from this band. the Wings ‘Venus & Mars Sessions’ is a required repress of a title originally available in late 2001. Its sound quality is the best we’ve had yet. A good time to get one if you missed it before.
