  1. Thanks for the info. Unfortunately, I still can’t say for sure, but it now seems that the so-called “Freak Out” mix of “Purple Haze” of The Jimi Hendrix Experience” is rather unlikely to be anything new to us. Although the so-called “Freak Out mix” isn’t either of the 2 “Purple Haze” versions on Rattlesnake’s 4CD “The First Studio Sessions 1966-1967”, it’s rather likely to be the same as one of the several versions of “Purple Haze” that are on Disc 3 of Wonderland’s 4CD long-boxed set (book set) “The Making of Are You Experienced?”. Also, the first several seconds of the “Freak Out” mix on the Eternal Grooves label’s recently-released 1CD “The Making of Are You Experienced?: Unreleased Studio Session 1966-1967” are unfortunately cut off.

Hopefully WGPSEC & Stuart won’t call me a moron or idiot!

  2. Black Sabbath Portland 1970: Reel-to-Reel Master (Zodiac 304) is a first outing on silver, to the best of my knowledge. I’m not sure that I even have it in my tapes collection, for that matter.

Live Longest… Die At Last was released in 2012, on No Label, and again in 2014 (No Label again). My understanding from giginjapan is that the 2nd release was a repackage of the first, but the translation from Japanese-to-English was somewhat confusing. This new Zodiac release claims to be an upgrade, but it shall have to go some to beat the previous. I shall be ordering it.
