Beatles – Rubber Soul Rockband Mixes (Rattle Snake RS243)

Rubber Soul Rockband Mixes (Rattle Snake RS243)

(36:57):   Drive My Car, Norwegian Wood, You Won’t See Me, Nowhere Man, Think For Yourself, The Word, Michelle, What Goes On, Girl, I’m Looking Through You, In My Life, Wait, If I Needed Someone, Run For Your Life

Rubber Soul Rockband Mixesis Rattle Snake’s edition of the tracks taken from the video game Rock Band.  It is similar to the Misterclaudel Rubber Soul Rock Band Mixes (WWII-05) except it lacks the interviews at the end.  Rattle Snake opted for a more traditional route and presented something close to the official release.

The sound quality is of course terrific. All of the tracks have count-ins, but there is scant interesting studio chatter that is present on some of the other releases.

Rattle Snake is definitely superior to Misterclaudel for packaging.  While Misterclaudel was content with a duplication of the studio album, Rattle Snake follow the patter of their other Rock Band releases by using psychedelic artwork on the front cover and a booklet with many and various photographs of the band.  Which one is better is subject to personal choice, but it’s nice to see a label place a lot of effort into the packaging and producing a pleasing aesthetic experience.
