Beatles – The Beatles’ Hottest Hits (DBM-055)

The Beatles’ Hottest Hits (DBM-055)

(28:09)  I Feel Fine, I Call Your Name, I’ll Get You, From Me To You, This Boy, She Loves You, Long Tall Sally, Thank You Girl, Matchbox, She’s A Woman, Slow Down, I Want To Hold Your Hand

The Beatles’ Hottest Hits was manufactured in Denmark by Skandinavisk Grammophon Aktieselskab in 1966.  One of the rarest Beatles records, only 3000 were pressed of this unique compilation and was withdrawn from release after only two weeks. Only ever released in Denmark, this collection of 1962-1965 non-album tracks is considered by many to be the highest fidelity pressing of any vinyl Beatles compilation – the high frequencies and bass notes are remarkably clear.

Dr. Ebbett produced this needle drop in 2005 after many collectors’ request and DBM is a prefect copy pressed on silver.  They have preserved the fidelity of the original and this is the first time the LP has been available in this format.  In addition to the fidelity, this release is notable for the famous “Eskimo” picture on the front cover showing the band dressed in parkas.  For the Beatles completist this is a good addition to the collection.
