The Beatles’ Second Album was released on April 20th, 1964 and is the second released by Capitol in the first four months.  This album also came out right after Beatlemania hit the US.  Like the other titles in this series, this is a silver pressed edition on the MR edition on CDR presenting both stereo and mono mixes of the album.  When released this album shot to #1 like its predecessor had. Mono copies of the first pressing of this album are 6 to 8 times more common than stereo copies.

Capitol obtained from Parlophone (in England) a copy of the “She Loves You” single (that song, plus “I’ll Get You”) and stereo mixes of the songs from the British Long Tall SallyEP. The b-side of “Can’t Buy Me Love,” namely, “You Can’t Do That,” also appears on this album. As before, the songs from singles appear in rechanneled stereo.  Two of the Long Tall Sally EP songs, the three single sides, and the remainder of the With the Beatles album were collected into this LP.  The two EP songs weren’t issued in England until 2 months later, and their UK release was mono only.  This is another flawless transfer and worth having.
