The Archive Master Series have been producing near definitive Bluray versions of famous Led Zeppelin and Beatle videos.  Five Nights In A Judo Arena presents the concerts and other promotional films surrounding The Beatles’ only visit to Japan in 1966.  The age of the source material limits quality, but the footage on this release looks superior to previous editions include those released by Misterclaudel several years ago.

The first part of the disc contains footage of the band arriving in Tokyo for their visit with their music as a soundtrack.  Much of it is in black and white and very clear.  Archive Master Series includes black and white footage from the press conference for the first time on disc.

Afterwards there are the two concerts.  The June 30th “black suit” concert on June 30th looks very clear.  The July 1st “white suit” concert comes from the master tape and looks even better.  Both present excellent footage of the songs performed each night.  They follow with the final edit of the documentary including the arrival at the airport, the press conference, and footage from the concert.

Five Nights In A Judo Arena is another excellent production, presenting the definitive version of the Beatles Japan shows, worth having.
