  1. Clapton Blues reissue

Given that cassette sound has always been the poor relative in the hifi family, I don’t quite see the point of this Clapton reissue. Why would you buy this instead of the cheaper official cd? Unless the cassette master contains variant mixes or tracks or something. A bit of a puzzle.🤔

    • I agree. I never understood the 8-Track transfers either. If you’re not getting a different mix or an alternate version, is it really worth it? Apparently, the reasoning behind this one is that it is taken from the only analog source (cassette) available, and was never released on vinyl.

      • Thanks for the extra info, wgpsec. I guess the analog sound source for the cassette master justifies this release, though the cassette quality sound might cancel this advantage! But with the vinyl revival underway, maybe Eric’s official record company will sanction a deluxe vinyl reissue of ‘Blues’ from the analog masters in the near future?? I might buy that, but not this cd version.
