Phil Lynott’s Grand Slam Irish Shade(Shades 315) is a stereo soundboard recording of The Pink Paradiso Inter County Hotel show in Lifford, Ireland on April 29th, 1984. 

Rainbow Prince Of Wales (Darker Than Blue 104/105) is a stereo soundboard recording from St. David’s Hall, Cardiff, UK on September 14th, 1983.

Rainbow Sydney 1976 (Rising Arrow-044) contains an audience tape from Horden Pavillion, Sydney, Australia on November 11th, 1976.

And finally Eric Clapton Blues In The USA (Beano-042) is a four disc set containing two shows, October 28th, 1994 Kansas City and November 2nd in Phoenix from Clapton’s Nothing But The Blues revue.

  1. Strictly speaking, the Rainbow show isn’t a SB – it’s from the US radio broadcast ‘Captured Live’. Why it was recorded in Cardiff, Wales (UK) yet never broadcast there, I don’t know, but in 1975 the King Biscuit Flower Hour recorded Skynyrd in Cardiff also.

  2. I have a copy of CARDIFF 1984 – although the concert took place in 1983, from the now defuncted italian Live Storm label. unfortunately, it contains only the second half of the show. It’s a SBD recording with stelar sound. i don’t listen to it in ages but I can recall that J.L.Turner butchered Stargazer. It’s an awful version. The rest of his performance is ok.

  4. Since Rainbow’s ‘Prince Of Wales’ contains a supposedly professionally recorded tape, this looks like an interesting title. Will there be a review?
