Revolver was released in the US August 8th, 1966, three days after its release in the UK.  Silver Apple pressed on silver disc the excellent MR release with both stereo and mono mixes of the LP.  The sound quality is excellent (better than Dr. Ebbett), and has a flawless transfer.  The US and UK pressings resembled one another more, and the only difference is that the US version is missing the three songs (“I’m Only Sleeping,” “And Your Bird Can Sing” and “Doctor Robert”) that were included on Yesterday…And Today.

The change in the tracks reduces the number from fourteen to eleven making the album clock in at under a half hour.  Quite why Capitol didn’t include a single such as “Paperback Writer” and “Rain” isn’t clear.  It is interesting hearing the sequencing of the tracks where “For No One” and “I Want To Tell You” are together.  On official CD releases, which utilize the UK version, Lennon’s “Dr. Robert” is programmed between the two.
