Far East release round up

As we skip in to the new year and all the release schedules open up again, the first buds of the new releases spring open.

Fronting first are the anniversary boys, Led Zeppelin and the Graf Zeppelin label bring us ‘Definitive Beach Party’ (LZSC-027). A 4 CD comp beginning with the audience capture of the show at Long Beach Arena, Long Beach, California, USA on the 27th of June, 1972. The disks also feature the three soundboard tracks from the same gig, the final disk is an alternate audience recording of the part of the set featured on disk two.

The Xavel label have two new aud / IEM matrix recordings; Following on from Rattlesnake’s very fine releases (Click the links), the label have their own recordings. As ever dependent on your tastes or contacts, the decision is slim between these disks – The only thing that changes is the fact that disk four features an additional track, the somewhat mysterious, ‘Soundcheck at Amsterdam ArenA’.

The second release is Guns and Roses, ‘Kobe 2017’. A 2 CD, IEM recording from the World Hall, Kobe, Japan on the 22nd of January, 2017.

Three new Prince releases on the Purple Gold Archives Collection, ‘Live At The Purple Bowl’ is a 3 CD recording of the full set including the Sheila E. support and the soundcheck from the show, live at the Orange Bowl, Miami, Florida, USA on the 7th of April, 1985.

‘Can i Play With U; The Complete Flesh Sessions’ feature recordings made in 1985 / ’86 and 1991 from the unreleased collaboration between Prince and jazz great, Miles Davis.

‘Y’all Want Some More’ features more material from the three Prince / Miles Davis sessions and some rough mixes for the album too.
