Keith Richards / Merry Clayton release on poisonApple

From soundboard webcasts and audience recordings taped at the Jazz Foundation benefit tribute to Merry Clayton where the singer was awarded the “Clark and Gwen Terry Courage Award” from The Jazz Foundation of America at the Apollo theatre in New York, the poisonAPPLE label have released short EP of Keith Richard’s appearance titled, ‘Keith Plays The Apollo’

With Ivan Neville, Waddy Watchtel, Willie Weeks, Steve Jordan, Sara Dash, Lisa Fischer and Bernard Fowler, Keith took to the stage and performed two Stones tracks, “Gimmie Shelter” is obviously one of the tracks most closely associated with Merry, Keith also played his own composition, “Happy”.

Merry lost both legs below the knee after a car crash in the summer of 2014. Despite her injuries Merry continues to work.
